Yoga 101: Intro to Yoga for Beginners (join the wait list)

Starts on  @ until | Every Monday  for five weeks

In the yoga for beginners class, you’ll learn essential yoga poses, take time for breathwork and incorporate other yogic ideas into the practice like mudras (hand gestures) and mantras (sound). As you progress we will begin to flow and you’ll begin to link your breath with movement. Meeting weekly you'll set the stage for the days ahead that goes beyond the mat.

With each session, you'll cultivate strength, build confidence, and care for your body, mind and soul through practice in a nurturing environment. Each week we'll build upon the previous session. By the end of 5 weeks, you will feel and see an overall improvement in health and well-being.

Other notes:

  • Wear comfortable clothing - loose or fitted as long as you are comfortable and can move your body. There is a space where you can change your clothes. Arrive early if you need to change your clothes.
  • Cork yoga mats are provided for use at the studio. If you have your own mat you are welcome to bring it.

About your facilitator: Amy M Adams is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with Devvrat YogaSanga a Registered Yoga School (RYS). She is certified to teach Ashtanga Vinyasa and Hatha yoga. She is the author of Introduction to Yoga, Book Number One from the Don't just think it, do yoga series. It introduces students to yoga philosophy, the eight limbs of yoga and various yoga postures and fundamental terms.
